Maureen A. Armendariz holds an undergraduate degree in Studio Arts. She studied art, theology, and philosophy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the International School of Art- Umbria, Columbia University- Chicago, Newman University- Wichita, and Wichita State University. She draws, paints, and designs print materials, jewelry, and Rosaries. Her works are in private collections and the Library of The Art Institute of Chicago.

Currently, Maureen is a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bellevue University, NE. She speaks, teaches, and gives workshops on both art and mental health. Her plans for the future include private practice as an arts-based psychotherapist. Her special interests include arts-based healing of treatment-resistant PTSD and the use of art as a tool for psychological health.

She is also a wife and homeschooling mother of six amazing children, who are her finest works of art.
